Availability Avios - BA Vs QA
HI everyone - looking at EDI to SEZ March 15 return March 26 with Avios. There 's 's availability on BA for those days but none on Qatar via Avios. The BA is showing Qatar Airlines is available.
Can anyone confirm that this is the case? Seems strange that one would have it and not the other....
Thanks

The reverse scenario is more common, where an airline has more availability for its own FF program than for partner programs.
It is possible that the seats show as available for BA but can't actually be booked.

When I first log into PC - I can see my BA Avios points, however, when I search to redeem, PC show's no availability and no Avios points....as in the screen shots...

You need to transfer just a few Avios over to Qatar privilege club if you have your BAEC account linked and that will open up availability on the Qatar site. I had to do this for Mrs Bs account so that we could get back from Australia on her Avios. If you like what you see then transfer the balance as required.

I noticed this too. I had booked my Outbound to Oz no issues. Now attempting to book my return and Qatar is showing availability but at this stupid *2 Avios rate miles!
I have noticed that their algorithm seems to change subsequently so guess I've got to be patient until 335 days before departure. Big change from 180000 to 360000 for the one way journey back from Perth in Business!
It is frustrating but I have found that the QR taxes are cheaper than what BA usually want.
However domestic flights in Australia on Qantas I think are remarkable bang for buck when booking using Avios on BA, given the cost of air fares down under.
If I cannot back from Perth to BHX then I can alternately fly back from DPS or SIN or alternately fly into another UK / European city.
That's my game plan currently
