The Auckland Cancellations Thread

Hi there,

If anyone has any news on Doha->Auckland , please post it here!

Thanks!

Just had confirmation that it is now officially cancelled:

It had been rumoured all day (and predicted by a few of us last week), so hardly surprising.

It will be interesting to see what QR offers by way of an alternative/refund.

As I have a December flight, this is kind of important to me, what do you think they will do? Route me via Sydney/Perth?

Or just say sorry and refund me my money? Are they allowed to do that?

Cancelled or postponed

The link i read above seems to say the launch is postponed not cancelled . Start delayed until February . I imagine those that booked the "crazy" J launch fare will be accomodated via Australia ?

For those who booked the fare, have a look here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/premi...-1292-eur.html

On the latter pages, you will find comments from those who had booked the fare, but have now been offered alternatives.

We'll allow you your moment of smugness :D

The nice people in Doha have just sent me a HIA hotel invitation for my December trip. Left hand/ right hand: I wonder how long it will take for the cancellation news to filter through the QR system.

Or perhaps the customer service folk are ahead of the game and taking care of my revamped routing .... (dream on!)

Why do you need a night at HIA? How are you getting from DOH to AKL - via where, and which carriers are being used?

Ta!

Ta!

Sorry - I meant that customer service is operating as though my DOH AKL sector is still intact. Though (who knows ?) - I might still need the hotel room under whatever new scenario develops!

No word at all about re-routing - but i'm relaxed about it: there are seven months for that fun to be enacted...

Are we thinking it is likely 1 Feb will go ahead?

irishguy28 May 12, 2016 2:00 am

That will really depend on when the delayed A350s finally start arriving....

That situation is still up in the air, so there is a chance of further slippage in the schedule.

I'm thinking QRlikely, which is equivalent to Insh Allah.

Dan1113 May 13, 2016 9:40 am

It's been moved now to 06 February - any idea why?

For the same reason it was moved to 1st Feb.

Expect further delays.

Dan .... I'd have thought that after all these questions, all these posts, you might have some idea of what is going on with QR ......
