747-400 seating chart for Business Class
I am booked in Business on QF26 in November which is currently scheduled as a 747-400 2 class aircraft. When I go to expertflyer.com to view seating chart, I see in the nose section there are 4 rows. However, in rows 3 and 4 there are center seats, 3E & 3F, and 4E & 4F. Which 747-400 is this? Or, is this an error? From QF 747-400 and 747-300 seating charts, I've noticed only row 4 as having center seats in the nose section, seats 4E & 4F. I have noticed on 3 class aircraft, in First, center rows 2, 3, & 4, has having three rows of center seats in the nose, but for the two class aircraft, only row 4 has center seats. But, for my flight, on this 2 class aircraft, there are two rows of seats in the center of the nose, and this appears to be a change from when I looked at this flight over a month ago. So I was wondering, which aircraft is this? Thanks.

It's a refurbished 2 class, they have added two J seats to row 3 to make a 58J version. The seat map is not on Qantas.com as yet.
Simply consider the 2 class .pdf with two extra seats in "Zone A".

I also noticed the apparent discrepancy; but weren't the extra two J seats to be added to the upper deck (as was done when the 3-class VH-OEE was resonfigured)? Or will the 3-class equipment have 2 additional J seats upstairs and the 2-class equipment have 2 additional seats downstairs? Under those circumstances, the front J cabin would seem uncomfortably tight.

Also, if the aircraft is refurbished, does that mean it would be a " new and improved " 747-400, any other enhancements, or what would refurbished mean other than adding 2 J seats which actually makes the nose more crowded? Thank you.

Yes, Skybeds and I guess Zone A will become "more crowded".

Thanks for the link. That thread seems to indicate that with seats 3E & 3F on a 747-400, that this would be a 3 class aircraft. This is true that 3 class aircraft would have seats in row 3E & 3F, but there are also would be seats in row 2E & 2F on such an aircraft. And in all four rows, Row A is a single seat. However, on my flight, there are just 2 rows of middle seats 3E & 3F, and 4E & 4F, and NO 2E & 2F therefore I do not believe my A/c is a 3 class. Plus, there are side by side sets along the windows in rows 1-4, which also would not be a 3 class aircraft. And, there are no blocked seats showing on any seats in the nose section. So, I am doubtful my fight and aircraft is at this time a 3 class aircraft.
Re-read the link I sent again more carefully, all of the posts. It appears the seats in 3EF are an anomoly. Actually, on my flight, they appeard a week ago and now have disappeared again.

I recently took that flight with a 3 class seat plan that turned into a 2 class 747 when we got there our plotted out 1st class seats were gone. Luckily they moved us to 16 j/k
