Just to clarify something:
With 125000 points I can use BA to fly from JFK to LHR in First Class go on using Club World to AMS and return to JFK the same way. True? By the way: Club World is Economy? I can't fly Business? Thanks for your help. |
"With 125000 points I can use BA to fly from JFK to LHR in First Class go on using Club World to AMS and return to JFK the same way. True?"
Actually it is false. You can fly JFK-LHR in 1st or on Concorde and continue onto AMS in Club Europe (not club world) and then do the same on the way back" "By the way: Club World is Economy? I can't fly Business?" Club Europe, which you would be entitled to use, is BAs European business class Club World is BAs Longhaul business class product Euro Traveller is BAs European Economy Class World Traveller is BAs Long Haul Economy Class Dave |
Thanks Dave for the clarification.
I got a little mixed up with all the "world", "club", "traveller", ... |

May I impose on your expertise here I want to do LAX-JFK-LHR and return in BA first with concorde for JFK-LHR. SInce I will be exceeding the 10,000 mile limit and will be using the next category of miles, what would you suggest as further destinations in europe to get the max out of the 15000 mile category? MAD, BCN? any other thoughts would be most appreciated |

You could go to Cairo for 4380 miles round trip leaving 1770. If you spend the 10,000 points for a stopover in London , you could pop over to Madrid whcih would cost 1548 miles. The trip to Cairo would be in 1st and Madrid in Club Europe. If the idea is to do a Concorde trip, have you considered buying a cheapie ticket from LAX-JFK and then doing a 10,000 mile trip from there which will save you 105,000 points? Perhaps I could use 40,000 AA miles for business from LAX to JFK, as a separate ticket, that's better than spending 105,000 extra miles. Would the following work within the 10000 mile limit JFK-LHR-Malaga(Spain)JFK JFK-LHR-Scottland/Ireland-JFK |
I am going to hop on the bandwagon and try to get 2 SSC awards through InsideFlyer subs. My math is that I buy 40 subs and will trnsfer them for 250,000 QF points (40*2500*2=200,000 and 5*5000*2 for every 20,000 transfered). Is that correct?
Biggest concern: The second ticket will be for my girlfriend travelling with me, BUT the QF brochure I just got says awards are only for husband/wife domestic partner/de facto. De facto we live together but her german ID is registered to her own appartment. Anyone here with experiences how QF want you to prove domestic partner/de facto ? Does it help that we are travelling together? Any hint is very much appreciated. |

I am a QF member but not Starwood. Can I do the Starwood thing with the magazines and get the points transferred? And is there an expiration for the 2 for 1 deal posting?
Also when does the subsription drive end? I have been travelling and lost the end date. Thanks in advance for any assistance. RJ Edited for typos [This message has been edited by OZ IN FL (edited 04-24-2002).] |
The magazine promotion ends at the end of April, only a couple of days left. I am going to order mine tomorrow!
Question to all Qantas-freaks: When I get my 120000 miles transfered, do I get a silver membership-card? Gold? Platinum Lifetime? |

I'm sure Qantas would never do that, now would it? But some enterprising consultant might point out the revenue from all those brand new, never flown Qantas and never will, but now highly motivated potential customers. |

To get better value, if you were to pay for a ticket to Madrid from Malaga ( about $85) you could do more Within the mileage, you could do JFK-LHR-AGP , purchase to madrid, MAD-BHX-(EDI OR DUB or GLA)-LHR-JFK which would get you to Malaga plus Edinburgh, Glasgow or Dublin. You need to go to Madrid to be able to avoid London since you can only pass twice through the same city. The flights to Malaga and from Madrid to Birmingham would be in business class. The flights to and from dublin would be in business class. If you go to edinburgh, it is a one class service so it'll be in economy. That would cost the 125,000 points plus stopover costs. Dave |
