Comments on Bus Class quality?
Anyone flown International Bus Class to/from from Toronto to SYD, or LAX to SYD on Qantas recently?
Will soon need to make the trip, but have no experience with this particular carrier. Is BC noticeably superior to standard coach? Is it noticeably inferior to First Class?
Thank you for your comments

BC superior to coach? YES! The seats and service are far superior!
BC noticeably inferior to First Class? YES! The beds are much better than the BC 'dream seats'. Also the food selection is a little better and First Class has a personal video system where you can select your own movie to watch.

Yes, Yes, Yes
BC is much better the coach. The thought of 12 or more hours in the back of a 747 is just unthinkable. I do LAX-SYD often. Mostly in BC but did it once in F. No comparison although the atmosphere was quite like a libary. Very quiet and relaxed. I suppose those paying $10K should have that! Location is important on the 747. I prefer the seats upstairs but carry on space is VERY limited close to your seat.

I fly Qantas BC about three times annually LAX-SYD or LAX-AKL. QF miles count toward renewal of my AAdvantage elite status. Demand upstairs. Qantas BC seats, personal reading lights and video systems are just fine. Food is vastly inferior to U.S. domestic FC fare; I generally stop en route to the airport for 1) take-out sushi to eat during beverage service and 2) a couple of apples to preserve my sanity between QF's tasteless dinner and soggy breakfast. I paid once to upgrade to FC one way. I actually preferred the BC seat to the flat, narrow FC bed. Very little difference in food quality. I wouldn't pay to upgrade from BC to FC again.
