6th Annual FT AGM, BNE QP, Saturday 23 Feb 2008
 

Well, how can I refuse serfty - lucky I logged in today for the first time since July 11:eek:. Wow, how fatherhood and a new business change your focus momentarily (well, 5 months actually). Thankfully, 30 June is now over and I will have settled into a normal work load/life by end of August (and after a welcome 9 day break in CNS with Mrs QF WP and mini-QF WP).

Okay, I'll organise as usual. Of course, being 7 months before the event doesn't mean I have to a lot yet, but keep tabs on likely attendees and pre-contact the management at BNE QP.

How can I resist the FT Annual meeting?

Definately a silver at this stage. Should be able to move to Gold by early Feb.

Perhaps at that time of the year, the development of the new 'J'/'WP' lounges might cause some issues? Oh well. I'm sure we will deal with them if they happen!

Somehow I think that WP attendees might have to slum it in the usual QP and forego our new lounge facilities...

Nah, I was more referring to possible construction works in the QP et.al (although, yes it could cause more issues depending on catering/bar etc)

Nothing to worry about. If worst comes to worst, Brekkie Creek would be a goer!

I would love to come depending on circumstances so place me as a silver.

By February I will be a lowly Bronze as my commitments to my god-daughter as her carer while she receives medical treatment in SYD doesn't allow for much flying other than in my dreams.

We're all about caring and sharing, even though you have an unfortunate handle that perhaps needs a bit of disclosure to put us to rest. Weren't Metro Air the subject of a crash that killed a number of people in QLD a few years ago?

If you are referring to the one at Lockhart River that was a MetroLiner operated by Transair. To my knowledge MetroAir is an airconditioning company.

AKAIK, I'm gold. But until I have the ticket, I'm gold (minus).

This is not about euthanasia but if it is a silver bullet you require then so be it. :)

I can assure you I have nothing to do with air conditioning, my screen name is quite old.

Hmm, I had not considered how my handle would become obsolete. But I guess I will be stuck with it. I like bleakite though :)

Lindsay, please put me down as a Silver - Silver. I'm hoping to head to TSV that weekend but might do a Saturday night instead.

I need a silver dummy at the moment! :D. Having said this, Mrs. DUF and Micro DUF are in Europe at the moment on an F Award. :) so it is very quite at the moment.

Hi QF WP, how's your little one going? Hope she and your other half are well.

As for next year's AGM, put me down as a Silver, but a very shaky Silver at that. I am QFF Bronze with no QP membership, so I can only go on the condition that one of the following occurs:

• I can sign up for corporate QP membership with my company (chance of success: 2%)
• I pay for QP membership for a year - which is probably not viable as I don't travel enough to exploit it
• Someone has a spare invite, or able to invite me in to QP (like last one, which I believe was on an invitation coupon)

If everything comes to fruition, this time it will be good to be there for the whole time and meet more people.

When the time comes, I'm sure some friendly WP or other QP member flying that day can guest you in in... nothing to worry about as long as you're in BNE!

Hoping to get there for this one!!

Unfortunately in Feb, I'll be well over my yearly requirement (based on current plans ... and I did think I wouldn't make it this year!), so will pass... but if it had've been in March, then I would have reconsidered!

Put me down as Bronze, QF Gold.

Not sure if I'll be in Australia at that point, but if I am I will need to get two extra segments so SYD-BNE-SYD.

Gold (minus) is now GOLD (plus). Tickets booked and paid for. Arriving about 2pm.

I wanted to book this morning. SYD-BNE was $89 yesterday night, this morning it was $120. Now it is down to $98. I hope the price will go down to $89 again for me to book.
