QFF Program Improvements. Ideas/Suggestions?
Hey All,
I just wanted to start up a thread to discuss any ideas / suggestions you've ever had in relation to the QFF program. How do you think they could improve it? What extra benefits do you think QFF could add to the program to make it of more value to their Frequent Flyers. Please only discuss realistic changes as well :) A couple of mine are:
Anyone else have any other realistic suggestions? |
I'd like to see the benefits extend to after you leave the plane.
- Priority Customs & Immigration Line. - Private transportation to/from airport. - Follow up call if the intl flight was in F just to make sure things are ok. Car dealerships are great at after sales followups and it makes me want to go back there again and again...why wouldnt airlines be the same? |
I'd like to see WP's get an upgrade voucher that can be used for a one class upgrade on a flight confirmed upon booking.
Seperate availability for the different FF tiers in award bookings for all cabins (similar to T class, but in J and F) Possibly a Domestic J/ WP only lounge (or part of the lounge) at domestic airports. Probably a lot more that I can think of, but they're my quick suggestions. |
ROTFLMAO
Do you really think QF would try to make the FF program better (ie give away more). Get a grip, if anything, they will wind back the benets. They will only move to "improve" the program if facing serious competition. IIRC, there are 28,000 new QF FF memberships every month. That locks in quite a market share. |
og,
Sorry if you misread my intention with this post. The point of this thread was not to convince Qantas to make the QFF program better. I really don't think they need to either. In a lot of respects, it is quite a good program, and I am for the most part happy with the benefits I receive. That being said, the point of this thread is to just float a few ideas among the FF community as to what, in an ideal world, you would like to see included as part of the program. Nothing more is intended than that. Cheers, Josh |
Ok, make it harder to get status and kill of the paid for Qantas Club membership.
Am sick of full domestic lounges |
- i'd also like to see the end of paid for membership, but they won't do that, so seperate lounge for SG&WP ie: people who actually fly a lot and have earnt their priveleges would be nice. domestic lounges are way overcrowded.
- bar open all day. i am an adult and capable of choosing when i want to drink. especially when i have come off a long haul flight and it feels like the evening to me. - ability to confirm international upgrades at booking time, eg: similar to MFU on BA. - priority boarding on all flights for SG & WP, although i suspect some flights this is probably 80% of passengers. |
Scrap the 4 segment rule for Australian citizens :)
Allow family transfers to be any amount of points you want. Other than that, I think the programme is very good. I don't find it hard to get what I want. |
Removal of Fuel Fines on award tickets.

Some other suggestions along these lines have previously been posted in this thread

You'll probably never see paid membership abolished, unless the QF market broadens a lot, which I doubt will happen quickly (after all, aren't we the world's worst international airline?). I'm not a QP member so I wouldn't know better how crowded they could be - hopefully we aren't talking about a post-5pm bar down the road kind of affair, right?

I really don't know what benefits I'd like to see. After all, I'm just a NB. The stuff in this topic covers a lot of ground already. |

I do agree with your sentiment re overcrowded lounges (though as a self-funded, corporate rate QP - also self-funded, fairly infrequent flyer, I can only recall one such experience - SYD Dom a few years ago). My own take is that if they offer it, I'll take it...why not? If they remove paid QP then so be it. And I agree wholeheartedly with your other points. |
* If they remove the paid QC access then a lot of semi-frequent flyers who are NB would no longer be so loyal to Qantas.
* Most of my flying is international and I really think Qantas do a pretty good job in all respects, at least in int'l J. I'd like an int'l F lounge at BNE. They should also make the F lounge at AKL a lot bigger - was 100% full when I was there about 18mths ago, I ended up heading back to the J lounge. Perhaps I'd like to be offered the cheese plate AND dessert on int'l flights. Pretty petty stuff. * Domestically, I'd like to see seperate WP (and maybe SG) lounges at SYD and MEL. With food. I wouldn't bother with priority boarding or security lines - not a big enough problem |
