I'm not in management at any level, just a worker bee.

I'm a checkout guy @ woolies

Not upper senior managment here (lower), but enjoy the Qantas forum for tips on my occasional trips home to Australia.

I think FT attracts people from all walks of life (and the QF forum has many lurkers and posters who don't necessarily have QF status at all). It's hard to assume that most poster's are from a particularly company/sector/level.

Nup, merely an IT Consultant ( :p ) whose Income earning travel is 95% discount (domestic) whY. I have been able to garnish SG status this last few years, last decade it was much easier to get to the top levels.

^ Thanks to FT I was able to formulate and embark on a DONE4. In 5 days I earnted as many SC's that I had in the previous 12 months which, when combined, entitled me to WP Status. ;)

Blah. now how many of you are selfemployed? :P.
Self-employed means senior managment? :D

Sanosuke Feb 2, 2006 7:23 pm

I'm also an IT consultant and don't work for anyone, just myself. Hehe. Oh the joys of having your own office hours anywhere in the world! :D

Sanosuke!

I work in IT for a semi-government department (you can partially trust me!). No where near CEO/CIO level and quite happy with that. All my travel is self funded and almost always O class (although tonight I am leaving on a BA T class fare, which will bost my SC's quite nicely for this year ;) ).

I doubt I'm very average though! :)

Please explain!?!? Is it cheaper to start J/F RTW in BKK? By how much?

DONE4 ex Oz approx $2500 more than ex BKK; ex CMB is approx $3,000 less than Oz

What if you are self-unemployed? :)

IT consulting does seem to be a common entry on this thread. :)

But I make up for that by running my own olive producing farm
That ensures the only management role I'm likely to see soon.
Pity the farm business doesn't pay as well as IT. But then grocery
bills might be more talked about than petrol prices

At least I don't need a gym membership for exercise.

Happy wandering

Fred

Saying "IT Consultant" covers all areas of IT nobody else understands... it's the dumbed up version of "hey im super smart and know how to screw you for every cent" .. don't be fooled!

Start in BKK (remembering that I live in SYD - ie SWPacific zone). Go to Europe and come back home to SYD via N or S America. Then 4 flight segments available in SW Pacific, then return to BKK via anywhere in SE Asia that OW flies to. There you have 4 trips for the price of one (not counting how you get up to BKK). All in 12 mths from the first flight.

Check out the OneWorld Board for postings with DONE4.
