Using QF points with BA

Anyone have any idea how many QF points are needed for London-Bermuda return in Y with BA??

Do I just call QF to find out and book this>

Cheers.

Why not look it up on the Qantas web site?

The QF web site has the tables at http://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/dyn/...s/pointsTables

LHR-BDA is 3437 miles, so you will need to redeem zone 7 which is 42K points in Y or approx 55K points for WT+ (probably worth it as you have some chance to get upgraded to club along with the better WT+ seat).

Oops! Number6 has forgotten that the new tables are per 1-way!
It is Zone 4 requiring 2x (25K each way) + 2500 fee = 52,500 in Y.
+12,500 for upgrade to WT+ = 65K RT.

You can always turn it into a 1-way so it is 1xzone7 instead of 2xzone4. In this case lhr-bda-lhr-man for example, I presume this is valid and would save almost 8K points, but who knows how these rules are applied? I only plan on redeeming 1-way on QF so it works for me.

I just called QF to check & Number6's example above would NOT be called a big 1-way with stopovers. The concept of stopovers has been abolished by the new rules. Each origin--(via transfer)--destination is calculated separately as a one-way & points assessed accordingly.
The only exception is the OneWorld awards.

No you cant. Counts as 2 trips based on QF's definition.

Is this really true that any stopover on a one-way award is disallowed except on Oneworld awards? It boggles my mind that they would have such a rule. What if the previously example was LHR-SIN-SYD instead of LHR-BDA-MAN, is the stopover at SIN really prohibited? I'm not motivated very much to research this as I'll always be redeeming one-way Oneworld awards on QF, but I can't believe the rule is this way about no stopovers allowed on a one-way award. Was the problem in the last example the need to hub via LHR and that was the only reason it was 2 awards instead of 1?

No, the stopover is not prohibited, but you will pay points for 2 fares: one fare LHR--SIN + the fare SIN--SYD. Whereas without the stopover, you pay 1 fare LHR--sin--SYD.

#6's concept is true, as long as there are no stopovers. So it rather unrealistic.

Examine closely please, QFF definition of turnaround points. Please use search on this forum for more information. This was discussed just before 25th May changeover.
