Oh the fog is unfortunate for the stranded-at-Christmas pax. I guess that makes the -SIN or -PER connections that much more preferred... (sorry WP’s, no massages in the PER lounge)

I am in a similar position, on QF2 through to Sydney with a significant (to me- ~6hrs) delay on the second leg.
The reasons which were stated were something to do with not having available aircraft and it being a cascade effect from a plane which went tech yesterday. I am however confused, as QF2 arrived into DXB on time (early) yet both QF9 and QF2 onward to MEL/SYD are delayed by about the same length of time. I got an email from Qantas which definitely refers to this as a single flight, and I plan to make a claim for delay compensation as this has kiboshed the plans I had pre-arranged in Sydney tomorrow. Fingers crossed, would be a nice little boost at Christmas. That being said, as above, I'd prefer to get where I need to be on time and not have to twiddle thumbs for 5hrs in the lounge. Oh well, at least it's a decent one... |
