Post JSA changes to earn on BA

As expected

http://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/dyn/...ritish-airways

British Airways (BA) continues to be a key partner, with Qantas Frequent Flyers able to earn points on eligible BA flights (with a BA flight number on their ticket).ΩΩΩΩ For members travelling on a BA flight from 31 March 2013, Status bonus and Minimum Points Guarantee will no longer apply and Discount Economy˜˜˜˜ travel classes will earn points at 0.25 points per mile travelled. This means points will be earned consistently across all BA routes.

An enhanced level of consistency to remove any ambiguities previous suffered by the travelling public. :)

Not too surprising really. Would seem to make AA a good candidate for crediting BA economy flights to, given the 100% earning there

What happened to the six months notice required under clause 2.3 of the T&C's?

The term says

The provision of miles for BA flights would seem to be a benefit provided by BA and so would be 30 days where possible

I pdf'ed the t&c's yesterday http://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/dyn/program/terms. They are now different

As far as the change to BA earning goes then, it would seem to me to be something that would be covered by the "30 days perhaps" clause and that this clause has been in there long enough

Agree BA buy/give points , not QF

It still isn't 30 days. I looked at the BA earn page 2 days ago and the change notes weren't there.

I was expecting it, though I'm not happy about the loss of the status bonus. At least they haven't done what they have with MH for the kangaroo sectors.

The terms do not commit to 30 days, only that

where possible give Members at least 30 days notice.

It is only benefits provided by Qantas where there is any actual commitment to a specific advance notice

I have to say this is garbage. Way before the whole QF/ EK thing was announced I booked 2 J class flights to Europe on BA to now find that the flights back have been retimed with an unpleasant 4hr transit in SIN, loss of F lounge in SIN, change of aircraft & associated seat displacement from 747 to 777, and now this. Would have booked CX J if I wanted no bonus points but too late to change now and chances of having BA rebook me would be 0. Of course none of this is BA's fault or even an issue so you can save your breath fearless BA defenders.

Dave Noble Mar 12, 2013 1:51 am

Who is defending BA? I think that the terms of the QFF scheme enable QF to get away with the 19 days notice but I wouldn't call it a defence of BA

The removal of the 1st class lounge was at least in part Qantas's doing ( if not all ) but changes in aeroplane are BA's ; the only thing I would say is that the business class seats are the same regardless of the aeroplane

Is the fare refundable?
