I fly the four segments to keep QF status, but wouldn't bother if I didn't have LTG as a prospect. Instead, I'd fly non-OW, including when I come home to visit people in Australia, and earn status somewhere else.

I presume that's gold or platinum status.

If you flew less than 600 SC's per year there would be no need for those four segments for any general reason.

I know a Qantas LTG who has basically credited all travel away from QF since attaining that mark five or so years ago.

I only just got LTS. I hope they don't get rid of LTG...
