Air China: LHR to MEL from £1866!

Book Flights Here

Books into R Class, so you will earn 26806 miles or 125% of flown distance in most Star Alliance programs except Air China where you would obtain 200% of flown distance or 42888 miles.

Do you mind sharing what portal or website you used to get this rate booking?

Sorry to clarify I clicked the link to momondo and it was showing USD$2700+ and not the one shown in the screengrab.

I put the exact same dates into Skyscanner and I am getting a price of £1,847.00 return - books through OTA FlySharp, so seems to be working.

Great price, not sure I would bite on those particular flights as the layovers are too long to stay in the airport but to short to see anywhere.

Ex-DE/CH are the usual good sales for Air China, haven't seen ex-UK that often... I've had some luck finding routes on the Airbus 350 which has 1-2-1 seating...

It depends on whether you need the TWOV. If you do, agreed that 7 hours is too short as you're down to 3-4 hours including transport, though potentially you could squeeze in the 798 Art district a short cab away. (Cabs from BJ airport are well-regulated these days.) The 11 hours still leaves you with 7, which is adequate time to go into the city or to head out to the Great Wall. Some companies even offer the Wall and Forbidden City combined for a layover of over 10 hours...

I flew the LHR to PEK leg a few weeks ago and it was excellent, though that's based on LHR T2 ground service... Ground service even in F on the return left a lot to be desired (no dedicated security or immigration for transit, only if you exit and re-enter the airport, and the private escort onto the plane I had received a few years ago was totally absent), but great in the air.

I'd fly the Etihad if I was going to fly ex-eu. The wife and short people love EY J. Me less so.
Around this time last year I flew Q suites for 1200 to oz. Shame those days are gone.

I think the price was low possibly as it was a new route to Canberra. Canberra is really quite nice. There was at technical stop in Sydney to allow more flights into Australia this way.

This deal in the current climate is good. Remembering there's always a 3-400 premium out of UK vs eu.
