Trying to put this together from Amsterdam to Tokyo.
How can I see how many tier miles I will earn when booking?
AMS-DXB-KUL-NRT return

This is really hard to make work, since MH's only long haul to Europe or North America is KUL-LHR.
I'll have to dig around and see what the DEL-TPE/PVG/PEK flights are pricing at...

HYD-KUL-ICN is pricing at around USD700-800, netting around 16k miles (before x3), which means 2 of this trips plus a RT positioning to HYD can do the 100k emerald requirement!

4 KUL-ICN RT flights are probably less painful

However is it possible to do a same plane turnaround at HYD? i think the only MH flight arrive at 11:15 and depart at 00:15(+1), leaving 1 hour of connection time.

I wouldn't expect this to last much longer after the blogs blast it out to everyone.

I find it extremely unlikely that the blogs, which are almost all in English and geared towards American and European audiences, are going to inspire throngs of people to re-position to East Asia and/or fly $5000+ itineraries for OW status. And if they do, honestly, good for them. This isn't some deal FT found. It's a public promo.
Very unlikely though. At those prices it's still cheaper to do runs for BA Gold status, which people are far more familiar with. And you'd earn miles that are worth something from an airline that won't go bankrupt without warning...

Not only does your spouse get status, but status is valid for 24 months upon hitting status thresholds rather than remaining 2019 + 2020 + sometime early 2021 like US airlines.
