AV/BR: SAL-TPE in Business $2,356
Good deals for EVA long-haul J have been fairly rare. This is an Avianca K-class fare between San Salvador and Taipei connecting at LAX, SFO, or JFK. The fare rules say two free stopovers, but I haven't been able to get an itinerary with stopovers to price properly.
Example: SAL-JFK-TPE-LAX-SAL -- $2,356 Full rules: Code:
Avianca (AV) KEA00ZI2 SAL to TPE |
TPE -SAL US$2084 is even better. Very, very tempting!
Avianca, Orbitz & cheapoair seem bookable. Cannot get an itinerary with stopovers also. |
Would this be a fare mapping error? Observed on ITAMatrix that in it is a K fare in both directions, which translates to PE on BR.

The fare shows up as "Business Promo" on avianca.com, and while booking you can select a seat in the J cabin (on the AV legs). The confusing thing is that while some *A accrual charts list Avianca K under business (AC, SQ), others list it under economy (LH, UA). |
If you crack open the fsre rules for this AV K fare it clearly says economy class. Definitelt not a biz fare.

"Business Promo" is a D fare on AV.

Anyone pulled the trigger on this?
Related to recent fare class changes? Until recently, K was economy:Tickets purchased on or after May 25, 2017 and before July 01, 2017: Table for international flights, including Europe and flights within Peru Economy Class Super Promo U / T / S / W Econo Z / P / O / L / K / G / E / A / V / Q Flexi H / M / B / Y Business Class Business Promo D / J Business C Now K is indeed business:Tickets purchased on or after Jul 01, 2017 and flying on or after Sep. 01, 2017: Table for international flights, including Europe and flights within Peru Economy Class Super Promo U / T / S / W Econo Z / P / O / L / G / E / V / Q Flexi H / M / B / Y Business Class Business Promo A / D / K Business J / C |

Airline: Avianca (AV 4501) Operated By EVA Air Aircraft: Boeing 777-300ER* Cabin Business ------------------------------- I did a dummy booking on avianca and from its 'booking detail' it reads as above. Or this airlines company is not trustworthy? |
Well I did pull the trigger booking from expedia and made a phone call to EVA. The lady on the phone confirmed it's business class not PE.

Interesting because K/L/T are all Premium Economy on BR if I recall correctly.
From EVA's own site 'Earning Miles on Star Alliance Partners - Mileage Table'AVIANCA (Travel date after 2017/10/12) Business C/D/J/A/K Actual miles x 125%So avianca's K is business, here I second qupasyd's opinion, we are talking about avianca's not EVA's K booking class. Actually I've made two phone calls to EVA (trying to select seats), both representatives stated clearly that I booked business seats, so I am not worried. One annoying problem is about seat selection. Avianca told me to contact directly with EVA for it, and EVA said avianca has to send a request first. So neither of them wants to help assigning my seats. Well, I guess it's a common phenomenon for codeshare booking. |
