AA: LAX-MIA-UIO RT Biz $858: 8256 flown miles
I imagine Quito is far more interesting than PTY (which has a similar well-priced MR). Double EQM'S for business, right? If you plan it right, you can do flat-bed all the way (according to Google flights).
It works through JFK for a few dollars more. |

Nice, thanks. However, I can't find it via JFK for a "few more dollars" unless you mean over $1k.
$898 |

thanks, I guess I'm used to only looking at the weekend runs only for PTY.

I'm finding $925 for both ways passing through JFK.
$898 if I route through just MIA - LAX on 77W |
As a heads up, the "lie-flats" are angle-flat. Still comfy, and it's not a long flight, but FYI.
|
$808 both ways through JFK to PTY if you redeye out of LAX.

This is still active for a couple of dates. $944 for 17514EQMs
Sample: https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...AX0AA1975;sc=f Probably can be cheaper if playing with dates. Edit #1: ITA shows LAX-MIA-UIO-MIA-PHL-LAX for $970 but when trying to book, shows at $940 with two legs in coach... otherwise it would be 18656 EQM at 5.2cpm business! Edit #2: $1015.08 for LAX-JFK-MIA-UIO-MIA-JFK-LAX (I-P-I-I-P-I) bookable thru Orbitz (example) Base EQM 10701 * 2 business = 21402 TOTAL EQM (4.8cpm) Base RDM 10701 * 1.5 business = 16051 Gold mileage bonus: 10701 * 0.25 = 2675 Plat/ExPlat mileage bonus: 10701 * 1 = 10701 Member/Gold/Plat Promo Bonus Miles: 1000 + 500 + 250 + 250 + 500 + 1000 = 3500 Executive Platinum Promo Bonus Miles: 3500 + 1000 + 500 + 500 + 1000 + 3500 = 10000 No-status total earnings: 21402 EQM (do the challenge please dude) + 19551 RDM Gold total earnings: 21402 EQM + 22226 RDM Platinum total earnings: 21402 EQM + 30252 RDM ExPlat total earnings: 21402 EQM + 36752 RDM That's a lot of reward to visit Ecuador. |
I was looking for dates over Thanksgiving and found most of the route on lie flat 767 with one leg on angle flat 757. Is there a significant difference between the two products?
Not bad for $940, but possibly cheaper on different dates. http://goo.gl/flights/kth1 |
American Airlines LAX to UIO $914 Business
New to this message board.. love it.. I already did the LAX to Panama City trip found in these threads. Today I just found a $914 trip to Quito leaving on Tuesday coming back on Sunday. Taking the wife and our rain gear :)

Yep, definitely doable - and also possible to route the outbound leg through JFK (on the A321T) for the same price:
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...3-06;tt=m;sc=b This particular itinerary would require an overnighter in NYC -- probably because it departs tomorrow and all the red-eye transcons are fully booked in J at this point -- but I'll try playing around with the dates a bit... |

Also, note that both of your return legs are in the same cabin, labeling notwithstanding. They use the same metal, but AA doesn't have separate F and J cabins on its 767s, so they're labeled as F domestically and J on international flights. |
