Good to see that this works over the Christmas and New Year period too.

Nice fare

Too bad I live near Shanghai and can't route with a stop there, since no OW carrier flies PVG-CTU. The positioning flights cost about US$550 for a PVG-CTU RT.

Fare rules often contain contents which is common to multiple city pairs and different fares without being adjusted to fit each individual pair/series of pair. As a result, they often contain provisions which have no application for a particular fare or series of fares.

But you could route through HKG from where you can pick up a Hong Kong Airlines return to PVG from USD 200.

How do you find the more limited routings then? The "Fare Rules" link on ITA doesn't seem to be showing this. Am I just missing an additional link or clicking on the wrong one?

stopover may not exceed 2 days - that makes it a bit useless for me.
however, the HKG fare is nice as well and allows routing through CTU/BJS/PVG/BKK/KUL/SIN

Y500 each way (including the airport construction fee) is pretty typical on SHA-CTU (I just checked ctrip). Where are you getting US$550 from?
