You can buy a bottle of wine behind security at some airports in the US, and carry that wine on board with you.

If during a connection you have to leave security and be rescreened (different terminals for example), that bottle of wine becomes a dangerous thing and will be taken away from you.

It makes no sense at all.

Don't hold your breath.

This will happen when skeletor is on the board of the company which produces the new scanner and his company hires a lobbyist to bribe make donations to certain congresscritters ;)
