Massive and Imminent Terrorist Plot Foiled
Thank goodness Germany arrested three people who planned to use explosives to have kill people at the large transit US Military base in Germanay as well as at the Frankfurt Airport. They said that it would have been much more massive than the London and Madrid bombings and the attacks were imminent, most likely to coincide with the 9/11 anniversay.
Here is the CNN link. http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/europe...sts/index.html |
I saw this on the Today Show news and the reporter added: "this is a wake-up call for Europe!" ~ as if the European nations have been sleeping.

Any connection with radical mosques or Sheiks? There could be further arrests or at least inquiries.
1500 pounds of hydrogen peroxide... that's more than the average hairdresser's supply. ^ to the action to apprehend the alleged plotters and the intel behind the tip off and the nabbing. Book'm Danno. |
These things are always described as massive. Usually, however, the suspects have big dreams and no way of acting on them. In this case, it certainly sounds as if the threat was real.

Does anyone notice all the big busts are being done in Europe?
This means either: 1) sleeper cells go undetected in the US. 2) The US just ships them off to Gitmo, Tanzier, Turkey, take your choice, etc. |

I'm interested in seeing what facilities they had for processing all that peroxide.
How many 3oz bottles would they need? |

Yet another reported bust of terrorists that was not done by airport screeners.

Yes, it is. Time to get some TSA style going at european airports, eh. ;)
While the folks across the pond managed to impose the liquid-nonsense on EUians too (thanks for that, btw......), I have yet to see barkers and bad attitudes from the customer service folks manning the WTMD/xray in any EU port that I've been going through, whereas it seems systematic "across the pond". Notice, being from the continental part of the EU, "across the pond" means "beyond the English channel" and so does include the UK as well :D |

Lest we forget, here is a non-too-bad history from Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Army_Faction |

Since TSO’s do not have arrest authority how can they “bust” anyone? Or are we starting the TSA bashing early?
...and Chertoff will claim that this bust was his "gut feel"??? |
