I took an international flight from Nagoya a fortnight ago, and my laptop had to be removed from my carryon and placed in another bin to be screened. They also had posters near the x-ray machines with illustrations of bottles and hairspray that had large X's on them. I couldn't read the posters, but was told that liquids couldn't be carried on, so it seems like the restrictions are already being enforced? I think they had those posters at the domestic terminal as well.

On domestic flights, they ask you to take out bottles so that they can be tested in the special device that tests for liquid explosives. Also, they sometimes (not always) ask you to take out any aerosol cans to be put in a separate tray to be X-rayed. I've never understood that one. They've never made any fuss about aerosol cans for international flights at NRT.

On domestic flights they've made me remove my laptop to be X-rayed separately, but never for international flights at NRT.
