I sent a complaint to TSA after an agent instructed me to put nasal decongestant drops in my eyes. I've received 9 identical replies (all canned) all telling me to read TSA's web site list of banned carryons.
What was I thinking when I wrote to them?

I hope you didn't put the nasal spray in your eyes and told the screener to go stuff it. They can't force you to do something - always be prepared to escalate not just to the TSA manager, but also to your airline's station manager and even to the airport's management office.

Trust me - there is not much love lost between the airport managers and the TSA.

You need to try writing the FSD for the airport in question. I have found the TSA's website and other contact methods totally ineffective, giving at best canned replies that do not address the question / complaint and show that whoever or whatever is reading those notes has absolutely no comprehension skills.

Shame this isn't what I wrote about.
