Something can happen to you anywhere any time and it doesn't have to be a terrorist attack. The chance of something happening to you while getting to the airport is about 100 times greater than when you are on the plane. If it happens it happens.

No & not really, though the behavior of many of the knuckleheads we have all come in contact w/from the TSA have certainly reduced the overall number of flights I take simply because I don't want to deal w/them-what could be 2 seperate trips will now be combined into 1 to lessen the overall #of shots they can have at me (sorry Bart!).

Yes, I'm very worried when I fly. Mostly, I worry that some government employee Rambo with a gun will shoot at a guy sitting next to me who writes BOB on a napkin and hit me, instead.

I'm very worried every time I fly that I might hijack the airplane and crash it into a skyscraper until the TSA officers perform that secondary search upon me and determine that I'm still not a terrorist. That makes me feel much better.

I've never worried about an attack and never skipped a flight due to security concerns.

The only time I've been nervous was when sitting next to a gentleman with serious psychological issues. He talked to himself through the entire flight and wrote with a pen all over his hands and arms. He would have raised my awareness while riding on a bus or walking down the street, so being on a plane really made no difference.

No worries on my end - my only thought on terrorism is they will try something new and different while the TSA is busy looking at my shoes.

I was in the air within 2 days of air service being restored after 9/11 and my crew was far more nervous than I was.

As for the planes, the airframes are designed to withstand more "Gs" than the human body could - we will give out physically before the airplane.

I'm more worried about getting hit by lightning again like I experienced on Friday, January 13th!

I don't worry about another 9/11, but I must subconsciously think about it. The other night I had an airplane crash dream, several planes crashing into buildings... :( but in my dream it wasn't NYC, I don't know where it was.

No, and no . . . but I do think that the TSA is better than the half-wits that were screening pax before 9/11. That said, the officious behavior of many TSA screeners just makes me take off my shoes (no metal and not profile) lower my head and not make eye contact with any of them at the checkpoints.

I've made many points in my life, some when I used force . . . but the airport is no point to get singled out. The government has created lists and databases that would take my livelihood away. The President is going to tell us how much better off we are tomorrow night in his state of the union address. If he only knew (or cared) how the majority of us feel.

If by 'us' you mean the FT members, then it might well be a majority. If, on the other hand, you are talking about the electorate as a whole then I'm afraid only a tiny, insignificant minority are the least bit concerned about the 'security machine'. The rest could care less; even if they ever think about it at all :(
