This reminds me of an incident involving two male passengers. The first one, wearing steel toed boots, alarmed at the WTMD and had to be hand wanded (this was before the double-pass policy was instituted). The second one passed without a problem. However, the x-ray operator identified several prohibited items in one of the bags. The conversation went something like this:

Screener (to the second male passenger who's picking up all bags): "sir, is this your bag?"

Second male passenger: "Yes, well, no. It's our bag. It's actually his bag (pointing to first male passenger being hand-wanded) but we just mix our stuff together in our bags."

Screener (to first male passenger): "Sir, is this your bag?"

First male passenger: "Yeah, but it's alright. He can watch you search it. It's ok. We're practically brothers."

Police officer (to second male passenger): "Sir, I need to know who owns this bag."

Second male passenger: "It's ok, officer. What did you guys find?"

Police officer: "Did you place two boxes of ammunition inside this bag, sir?"

Second male passenger: "Actually, it's his bag, officer. I mean, we just get together once a year for some hunting. But this is definitely his bag not mine. You'll have to take it up with him. We just happen to be travelling together. I don't know nothing about no ammo."

The LAX TSA employees need to take some lessons from the SLC employees. I was at TBIT a while back during the evening mega-rush. They decided to close down one of the three working lanes for about a half hour causing my flight to be held for a half hour.
