Global Entry interview schedule problem
Hi all, about 5 weeks ago I applied for Global Entry and was conditionally approved. They required me to schedule an interview, which I did (at SFO), but I had to cancel that because of an unexpected travel.
Problem is, when I try to reschedule, the system tells me there are no time slots available in SFO. I am not traveling anywhere in the next month or two, so I really can't use any other center. Did anybody have this problem before? If so, how did you solve it? Thanks! |
You just need to book your appointment within the month after you are conditionally approved. But you can schedule your actual interview for months after. So you just need to search the calendar and schedule it for the another available slot.
Do a quick search and you should be able to find a global entry thread just about the process and people's experiences. Good luck! |
The system should display the next available slot. At SFO that may be as long as 4 months out. But, keep checking back because slots open (and are snatched up) all the time. Also, don't forget that you can attempt a walk-in anytime you are at or near SFO. If there's room, they will fit you in.

Something is wrong with the system currently, it would seem. Either try back or, if you're worried, schedule somewhere else, and then try back for SFO.

I posted about the same issue at SFO in another thread. The advice I got was to try multiple times a day until something opens up.

It just means that they've not released any additional slots there yet. That happened to me at ORD a couple of times when I was trying to schedule mine. Some more slots opened up a few days later. Just keep checking periodically. I checked 2-3 times a day ;)
If you're planning on traveling somewhere with an enrollment center, try that. Or, if you have some spare time, try for a drop-in appointment. There was a young lady dropping in when I had mine scheduled. Another CBP officer happened to be available at the time, so they took us both right then. YMMV, of course, but doesn't hurt to check it out if you have the time. |
BTW...Checking multiple times per day does work. I checked again this past Tuesday, and an appointment slot had opened up for this morning. I took it, went today, and am now fully registered.
So keep trying! |

I have found the GE folks to be professional and accommodating. I'd book the appointment, and if I am at SFO, I'd attempt the interview without an appointment for that day - merely declare your intend and some flexibility (willingness to wait a reasonable length of time) and I suspect there's a very good chance they'd do the interview if they at all have the capacity to do so. As InterFlyer has reported.

Just show up at the interview site when you got a chance. Ive heard you have a 50/50 shot of them processing you.

off airport GE enrollment sites
http://www.globalentry.gov/updates.html, they note that Houston City Hall and Port of Cincinnatti now have enrollement centers--I'm sure more will come in the future.:)
At some travel shows (expos) GE has also had interviews available. |
