I was flying out of LAX a few months ago. I have my usual window seat. Taking the long taxi to the runway, we passed by an A380, the first one I had seen in person. Of course I grabbed my camera to get a few pics! Glad someone didn't complain...

Really? Wow. That's incredible. So what happened? Did you shut it down or keep working.

Did you comply ? What reason did the FA give for the 'demand'.

Not fair - you've reached your destination. You gotta do it while waiting for take off.

Or maybe because it was a CO jet. :D |
It was in 2008, well before any CO/UA merger talk!

I can't see how taking pictures is suspicious, but they're not supposed to be using electronic devices during taxi for sure.

I think I just opened up an application, which is probably what I was in the processing of doing anyway when the FA came by with the drink cart. Nothing ever came of it after she continued the drink service. Still ticked me off though...

There's a link in the other thread about it in this forum that indicated they were mid eastern. It's probably a good bet that was a major part of the reason, not that they were taking pictures.
Taking pictures is fine, but a mideastern person taking pictures requires the plane to be empied and swept. The report I initially read indicated only that 3 people had been taken off, questioned & released. I'm glad to see that the whiner was equally inconvenienced for a change. ^ |
There has to be some penalty for this BS "see something, say something," particularly when, apparently, the only mistake the pax in question made was Flying While Looking Muslim.
Ridiculous and disgusting. I hope they sue the living carp out of UA. |

Well, at least Little Johnny PeePants was pulled off the flight and held just as long as the PAX he was 'spicious of. Maybe next time he'll keep his yap shut. :D
