Seriously, everyone who graduates college should have to pass Algebra, Logic, and at least some dumbed down Statistics. This is scary.

Well there's the dilemma isn't it? If he read the article and still thinks the article proves the TSA's Xray backscatter equipment is safe, then he's a bit "intellectually challenged." If he didn't read the article he reported on or deliberately decided to lie about the article's implications, then he's a bit "ethically challenged."

And sadly a smiling newsreader told me the same thing yesterday, and I read the same sentiment on a leisure travel forum today.

companies like L3 can buy dozens of shills just like this one anytime they want. When you have purposed, focused greed working on the willfully ignorant, truth goes out on a stretcher.

I dunno. I prefer to believe most journalists are stupid, rather than believe so many are dishonest.

I admit that my preference doesn't effect reality. It's one way or the other, and anybody's guess as to which.

I actually prefer the British English term 'newsreader' to 'anchor' as I don't believe that many/most 'news anchors' really have much subject matter expertise.

Yep, I agree when it comes to televised news, but today's drivel is coming from print media.

Besides, I know a journalist. She's really bright, and very ethical. I don't think she'd print this shlop about TSA Scanner "Safety" uncritically.

Stupid is the way to bet. Students end up journalism majors because they can't hack becoming a teacher.
