Priority lane for Expert Travellers

IND accepts Expert Travellers (in addition to Crew and FF elite) for priority lane at security screening points. This is officialy marked and acc. to TSA Officer its developed for those who can quickly prepare for screening.

Have you seen this somewhere else ?

I've seen it at various US airports. I think the first time I saw it was three years ago in SLC. If I remember correctly it had the expert lane, a normal one and one for families.

I'd love to know if it actually works. For some reason everyone tends to think of himself/herself as an expert.

Yeah, I also wonder how they certify some people as "expert"...
What would the test programme look like?
Someone next to you with a stop watch, who checks how fast you can take your shoes off?

Miami does the same thing- and apparently expert travellers are also those travelling with two strollers...

They don't. There's signs explaining what users these lines are for and you're free to choose which one suits you.

Since there is nothing really relevant to Miles and More in this thread I'm moving it to the TS/S forum.

IAD has one. AKA, the stroller and wheelchair lane.

CMH has an "expert" line, at Concourse B at least (the one with the WBI machine). While I am not a road warrior, I am rather anal (laptop out and ready, shoes untied if not slip ons, kippie bag out before I even get into the line) and could use the expert line... except everyone thinks they are an expert and I found it to be the slowest line.

It's also the line, IIRC, that was next to the WBI, so you had a better chance of getting pulled out to do WBI.

I'll know today if Concourse A has one.

Many people believe "I have flown once before, I am an expert."

In Canada, as has been mentioned before, at select airports, it is proven by having a Nexus card.

As others have noted ... they don't. It's self-selecting, which leads to all sorts of "interesting" problems.

Haha...that has been my experience as well. BDL has them too and it seems no one pays any attention to what lane they are going in.

I am a road warrior, and I'm not the one standing there 20 feet from the belt that feeds the x-ray machine with my laptop out and my kippie bag out and my shoes off already. Then, with my hands already full, I'd have to try and juggle bins to make sure that my laptop goes in one, my jacket, shoes and kippie bag go in another, and that nothing hits the ground at 9.8m/s^2.

That is a recipe for dropping something expensive, like my laptop, on the floor and doing it irreparable harm.

I just wish that I could do the Clooney Security Dance (TM). Sadly, I wear lace-up shoes.

The problem is there are too many frequent flyers out there with the DYKWIA attitude and it takes them 30 minutes to get ready for the xray. They are the same people who board the plane and take 15 minutes to put their bag in the overhead

RDU Terminal 2 has a "expert traveller" line. It's usually self selecting, but sometimes there is a TSO directing folks to the various lines. I only fly for business and I look the part (tie, jacket, etc.) so I always get to use it. Not sure it makes any difference. :)
