You are taking what a reporter wrote as gospel (haven't you learned already?). They don't explain what they meant either. As I stated it is possible another machine was deployed which the reporter interpreted as a reintroduction.
Maybe you should take your own advice and email the reporter and ask them to explain what they meant. I went through the D gates checkpoint at LAS recently, the Strip Search Machines were turned off. Are you suggesting that the reporter filed a false story? |

The Dallas/Ft Worth metromess is routinely shortened to D/FW by the local newspapers. The guy writing the article apparently doesn't fly... and doesn't know the airport code is DFW instead of D/FW.

Since NOOD, I haven't had the chance to opt out. In a half dozen trips through security, the WBIs have always been off. Otherwise business as usual including a new made up rule. Laptops must be in their own bin with no other items. No clothing on top nor can kippie bags share the same bin. Got the standard, "It's always been the rule."

To be truthful, that has been the rule since I have been with TSA... I know it is not equally followed around the country, but since Feb of 2005, it has been the rule here at GSO.

If the rule is 'laptops alone in bins' I have travelled through almost every state in the US since TSA's inception, and haven't followed that rule. It hasn't been an issue anywhere. And yes, I did actually fly out of GSO at least twice during that time, and in fact after February 2005.
Side note - When you coming back to see us? If you do, send me a PM and let me know, we will talk over a cup of coffee! |

No, I'm suggesting you read what I posted. I know that won't happen bacause you are only looking at what you want to see.
You on the other hand add nothing that refutes the reporters story. |

My recent experience:
12/2, 12/10, and 12/15 @ ORD T1: BSX cordoned off, everyone through WTMD 12/3, 12/10 @ BDL: BSX cordoned off, everyone through WTMD 12/17 @ CMH: BSX cordoned off, everyone through WTMD Don't know if they've backed off, but my recent experience has been NOS-free. I have upcoming flights on 12/21, 12/22, 12/31, and 1/3, so we'll see what's up then. |
