During my tour of the facility I also had a chance to speak with many of the people in the room, too. I got to see, firsthand, how the new advanced imaging technology machines work. While I opted out of seeing my own image (I’m shy, people, really), I got to take a peak into the room where the TSA officer views the images and what the images look like. I also learned from George Naccara, federal security director for the airport, that by April, he expects to have software that replaces actual images of people with generic stick figures that highlight areas of concern.

Sounds like we're getting closer to AIT ATR.

So in other words the AIT DOES STORE images?!
...waiting for someone come along and claim it was in 'test' mode for the show and tell session OR that they held the image till he could walk over to the peep show both err screening room.

AIT? You mean WBI or NoS?

If Kippie & Pissy say that it will be a while until they get ATR for the WBI/NoS, I highly doubt that BOS will get it :rolleyes:

The alternative is that they let a reporter look at other people's images. :mad:

Uh... enforcement of access? Aren't we promised that access is tightly controlled and there are no cameras, etc?

Does that mean screeners can just let their buddy down the hall at the terminal Subway into the peep booth to check it out too?

I was walking past the stimulation resolution room in an airport two weeks ago and heard the clerks inside talking about the pax they were screening :eek:

BOS has been a tester site for many of the TSA rollouts, enhanced pat-downs and NoS for example. It wouldn't surprise me if they were the first to get ATR for testing as well.

Stick figure or not if it is Backscatter it's an xray.

I see no reason to subject oneself to any additional xray sources.

I dont see how you can construe the article to have anything to do with storing an image.

One thing at a time. They might say "stick figures", yet there's always that radiation thing. And expect that the raw-pic is still in there somewhere. Yet, many a person has said... when the government says it's safe, that's when you really start to worry. :)

I think the assumption is if he declined to view his own scan he was actually given the option to see it, which would necessitate some storage or at least the ability to keep it up long enough for him to get there. Whether or not that occured, that's what he said.

Anyway, software changes don't convince me. Not as long as they continue to have false positives and invasive patdowns. Also if you don't believe they can't enable the save function are you going to believe they can't enable the enhanced view?

Not sure how he could see his own image, while simultaneously standing in the NoS, if it wasn't stored.

I agree, that was my impression.

The only reasonable interpretation of the authors words is they were letting him view pax images.

I find that incredibly hard to believe.

Talk to me when they're actually deploying the software to the field. There's nothing that's more ephemeral than software delivery dates.
