That didn't take long...

http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2010/10/...m-at-airports/

NEW YORK (CBS 2/WCBS 880) — Friday’s UPS scare is prompting increased security measures at the nation’s airports. That could include newly introduced pat-down procedures.

PHOTOS: Cargo Plane Terror Probe

Traveler Staci Reidinger told CBS 2’s Jay Dow she’s not happy about the Transportation Security Administration’s use of new full-body X-ray scanners. But citing privacy concerns she said it’s better than allowing a security agent put their hands on her.
The good news is, the comments at this site (see link above) sound like an angry, anti-TSA, pro-fourth-amendment bunch of passengers. Maybe we've finally been pushed too far???

Maybe?

What idiots. A bomb threat is detected in cargo, and we decide to ramp up pax screening. Does anybody at DHS/TSA have a brain??

No need to ask a question that you already know the answer to.

I am fully convinced that the timing of these events is no accident.

We knew here in early October that changes were a-coming. Then it eventually came out that 10/29 was the date that sexual assault, prison-style frisks would become de rigeur.

Lo and behold, CNN breaks with a story essentially calling the TSA out, and within hours there's a bomb.

I'm not normally a conspiracy theorist, but really? Really?

And so that my post isn't entirely OT, I am comforted by the fact that these comments appear to be mostly from New Yorkers, who for all intents and purposes have the most reason to be thankful for the TSA. Maybe, just maybe, people have finally had enough.

Btw, one of the reports I read over the weekend said screener's failed to detect the first bomb even after being tipped off as to its location. After a second search they had their aha moment and found it in the ink cartridge. So even after being told where to look they couldn't find it...wonderful! I guess they were looking in armpits and groins.

The photo clearly shows the TSO putting the front of her hands on the woman's breasts. So much for "back of the hand" inspection of "sensitive" areas.

Talked to 2 UA FA's on flight this morning that didn't have any kind things to say about TSA. One even started off with "Don't get me started on TSA ... " Then she started.

They were quite surprised to hear how revealing they were when they told them about the Rolando Negrin story. They knew they were bad, but not that bad ...

Paraphrasing some of the TSO posts on this forum, that is just the media twisting the details for effect.

Agree completely. The circle is complete: TSA knew the new procedures would be objectionable, and *what a surprise* they have a threat to "prove" they're right.
