Former TSA Supervisor Pleads Guilty

A former supervisor for the federal Transportation Security Administration has pleaded guilty to stealing $20,000 worth of jewelry and other items from checked luggage at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

<snip>

Pepper faces up to a decade in prison and a $250,000 fine when he's sentenced in November, but he is expected to face a guideline range of closer to six months to one year in prison.

Wow, look where this guys mind was. He was suppose to be protecting us.
And he as a supervisor too, training others.

This is just another isolated incident and does reflect on the rest of the TSA's employees. :rolleyes:

But to be expected. There are two justice systems: One for government workers and another for the rest of us.

Prison population is already overcrowded.

Yes, he will do minimal time. But the true punishment in all of this will be seeing him try to get a job with a felony conviction of theft.

He's not exactly going to be living the good life when he gets out of jail. And you know what, in some ways that's even better than living off the taxpayer dime in jail.

I agree that his crimes are heinous. He should get a harshser sentence because he was in a position of trust as a TSA employee and as a supervisor.

If you read the article, it says that he was discovered because another TSA employee turned him in and an investigation was launched. He was fired before the case made it through the legal system.

I am certainly not saying that TSA is perfect, because I believe that we definitely need to improve. However every successful theft against a TSA employee to which I have personal knowledge had another TSA employee assisting the investigation. By far most of the people who work in TSA hate the idea that thieves work alongside of us, and they are willing to help stop those thieves whenever possible.

Because it's more important to put someone who smokes a little weed in prison for ten years than it is to keep real criminals (like this one) off the streets.

I'm sure the FSD at RIT will be more than happy to put him back to work.:td:

He won't be living the good life in jail either. I'm more than tempted to find out where he's going and send every other prisoner in his cell block a few cartons of smokes to make sure this clown get "special treatment". :D

Think you mean RIC...

RIT = Rio Tigre, Panama
RIC = Richmond International Airport, Richmond, VA

While I appreciate that is your experience, how long did it take before the other TSA might be aware or one was willing to talk up versus how many complaints were ignored or never voiced because are just so darn frustrated with all the BS we're put through. You know we the innocent public are being treated by criminals, oh yeah BY criminals!!

Not so fun!!

goalie Aug 16, 2010 7:33 pm

starting the 18 month with 12 months suspended baring a violation of probation sentence in a white collar facility clock....:mad:

but kudos do go to the other tsa employee who ratted him out ^ and that person should be promoted to supervisor-guaranteed no body is gonna even think about pilfering on his/her shift

I see, if it was a felony conviction for robbery then he could work as a screener at Richmond (RIC), Virginia. Still trying to figure out if the federal security director there was fired or promoted.

I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up working for TSA once he gets out. Just take a look at Alvin Crabtree..

Alvin Crabtree was never arrested, charged and/or convicted. So that's why he still has a job. :rolleyes:

Some animals are more equal than others ... :rolleyes:
