How can anyone possibly know rules that are kept secret from them?

And therein lies the issue. I cannot be berated for failing to take personal responsibility when the posted rules are apparently not applied in a consistent manner, or when someone who is tasked with enforcing those rules tells me here that they are in fact not the actual rules.

And yet you say the rules as posted on the TSA website are not correct...:td:

Did I say that the web site was “incorrect” tommy? I don’t think so, I said they was a significant difference. Wow, that’s 2 in a row, we having a bad day or something?

I think a reasonable person reading what you posted earlier in this thread about the SOP being significantly different from what the TSA web pages state would believe you meant they disagreed with each other.

Even if that is not what you meant that is how I and I believe others took your meaning to be.

So the question is do the two sources disagree with each other or does the SOP just provide additional information for the TSA staff?

What claim did I make?

You made the following claim:

So what is that "significant difference"? Oh that's right, you can't tell us. But you want us to follow the rules, even the ones that are "significantly different" than what is posted.

Not going to try and support your claim Ronny that they are "significantly different"? Sigh, what a shame.

Look at that, two in a row....

The SOP provides specifics, procedures, and requirements. The TSA web page does not.

You said they are significantly different than each other. How?

Do you now see how what you wrote could be understood to mean something significantly different than what you intended?

Edit to add:

Is the information found on the TSA.Gov web pages giving guidance to travelers on Medically Exempted Items completely correct and gives the traveler all the information needed to properly plan a persons travel or is it lacking needed information?

I just want to confirm, no one here is saying pax should be prevented from carrying more than 3 oz. of contact lens solution, are they?

Additionally, no one here is saying that contact lens solution should be tested in a manner that would render it non-sterile, ...are they?

If I understand what TSORon has posted I think that is exactly what he is saying.

Check amounts over 3oz and refill the one in your carry on.

TSA will test how every they want regardless if the testing is hazardous to your health.

That's what I got out of all this. Anyone else? Bueller....Bueller.....

This ESL poster confirms what you just wrote, if that means anything. :D

That was my interpretation from this thread.

Pretty much, the TSA doesn't want us to put our health on the line when we fly...

Do you mean that they are ok if we risk our health?

Right then.

In that case, I shall be moving rather flattened behind off this chair and shall obtain a prescription for contact lens solution. Then, I will cycle down to Costco and purchase one of those 32 Oz. bottles of Re-Nu contact lens solution and take it to the pharmacy to have it labeled and dispensed according to the prescription.

Tomorrow morning, on my way to DEN with my little one, I shall present at the checkpoint with a large bottle of contact lens solution bearing a legal pharmacy label, and a supporting prescription. Expect to see an update by tomorrow evening.

Better would be a bottle of Clear Care. TSA seems to not like this brand for some reason.

Maybe TSA leadership has stock in some of the others.
