Sadly:

"Race car hottie Danica Patrick made her NASCAR Nationwide Series debut today, but she didn't make it to the checkered flag -- a wreck on lap 68 knocked her out of the race."

There will be other races.

Only if they translate into: "Kill all the infidels" Then they might be prohibited.

Even then they would be protected speech under the First amendment. My father served, I served, my brother served, my son serves today and we all served to protect free speech, even odious free speech, against government censorship.

We should not fear the government. The government should fear the people as the government is there to do the bidding of the people, not the other way around.

Actually, there is very good correlation between being a nascar fan and attributes such as the one you mentioned.

RichardKenner Feb 14, 2010 7:04 am

Does anybody know the case number for this case? I've been looking on PACER and can't find it.

Here is the PDF of the complaint, maybe it will help you nail it down. http://www.aclu.org/files/assets/tsa...t_20100210.pdf

I got so tired of hearing about Danica, it about ruined the race for me. The hype reminds me of the midget playing baseball.

Thank God she is not running today.

I have not been able to find it either. I believe it was filed on a snow day followed by another snow day followed by a holiday followed by another holiday.

We arrived at 8am and left at 1015pm. Security was a breeze even with liquids WAY OVER the limits. :D Race went well until the track repair issue. I think it was a ploy to have folks buy more liquids.;)

That's what I was using to try to find it. I think Ari is right: it just hasn't made it into the system yet due to snow and holidays.

It certainly seems to go toward showing how bigotry goes beyond being just a TSA infection and has infected the FBI in a way that wasn't the case a couple of decades ago. "Pro-Islamic" is a "real threat" while "anti-Islamic" is not? Still on the hunt for communists in America as a "real threat" despite the Soviet Union-esque actions of DHS/TSA and the government depending on financing from Communist China? :td: :td: to the infection of bigotry that has gone epidemic again in the nation.

Someone also should check if his name was flagged by a run against the unAmerican blacklists that the TSA uses and if the TSA had scanned his boarding pass against a machine prior to being subjected to the start of the secondary screening. His first and last name are common enough that it wouldn't be a surprise if it is the name or alias of some actual wanted person.

Here's Nicholas George, the person they treated as a "real threat" at the airport but couldn't identify as a "real threat":

secretbunnyboy Feb 15, 2010 6:45 am

The date of the day in question is given at para 13 under "Factual Allegations" - 12/29/2009.

the official also attempted to make small talk, asking Mr George if he had seen the recent Philadelphia Phillies baseball game. After Mr George responded in the affirmative and offered his opinion of the game, the TSA official admitted that he had not seen the game and did not generally watch the Phillies
:D Is this part of the fancy-schmancy ultra-effective Israeli-inspired psychological profiling we were told the TSA were getting trained in? "Hmmm...he speaks a furren language...and if he doesn't like sports, he's definitely a turrst!"

Thanks for pointing me to August 29, 2009 as the date of the incident.

It looks less like your so-called "Israeli-inspired psychological profiling" and more like John Does 1 and 2 stalling until Jane Doe 3 could get there, IMO.

This incident will probably encourage a number of foreign language students to seek employment in commercial or academic fields instead of our government. It may also discourage some from even considering becoming a translator.

I'm not surprised by this, but the comments to that article make me want to cry.

So what many of you are stating is that these three screeners forced a LEO to put cuffs onthe kid and haul him off. Never knew we had that option. Somehow I find it hard to believe that this LEO acted without the OK of his superiors.

The LEO wouldn't have acted in the first place without a TSO referral. One action caused the other ("But for...")

TSA's voodoo "security" BDOs wanted credit for this "achievement" too. They claimed that this person interested in joining up with the US State Department was "'exhibiting anomalous behavior' before he reached the checkpoint" that warranted this kind of extraordinary treatment.

He's still interested in taking the USFS written exam in hopes that if he makes it past that stage in trying to become a State Department careerist, he clears the oral part of the exam as well.

It's always nice to see people not surrender their dreams of public service just because they had some negative encounters with fools on the public payrolls.

No, I know, hence the :D . Hot tip of the day: don't say "how 'bout those Phillies, huh?" if you don't actually know anything about the Phillies. It won't kill much time. :D

The cop(s) could have easliy stated that there was no need for further discussion and told the TSA that there was nothing to pursue. I've been there and done that. Once the cops show up, it's entirely up to them as to what happens.

I wonder about a person who has to ask this question. Does it mean they are a bigot? mentally challenged? What other possibilities are there? Please help me out here. ;)

It's the BDOs who thought he warranted this extraordinary treatment.
