Also this morning . . . filed a formal complaint with my state's public utilities commission. Don't hold much hope out there, but one never knows.

I always thought AT&T was a pretty solid company so I let my daughter sign up for a cell phone with them (Cellular One). They told her that since she had no credit history, they would only extend credit of $100/month and then the phone would shut down. Her first bill was $300! It took MANY calls from me and a letter to the president to get $200 taken off her bill and the phone cancelled. Flakes!

I just canceled my AT&T Wireless Service in disgust. They unilaterally switched my long distance service to AT&T, notified me after the fact, and when I called to ask what was going on, said it was their new policy to allow only AT&T LD so they could provide a better, more integrated product. Do you think they read the papers?

My problems with MCI have not been nice. Have also had less traumatic problems, but problems non the less with AT&T. Bottom line, you can get much better long distance rates from companies that do not offer miles. I am in the process of moving and unless MCI gives me the 5c/7c plan they seem to have done away with or AT&T still has the 5c anytime plan (was not available in my market), I am going to go with a cheaper provider who does not offer miles. There are limits to what I will do for miles, and DL is learning this the hard way as I am now also flying on Southwest due to their new FF rules and ASA/TSE quialty of service.

We have looked into the problems of AT&T not crediting British Airways miles to users of its long distance service. By all accounts AT&T is not aware of it being a problem and we were given a number to call to get miles credited. It is a general number. In any case, if someone is willing to supply us with their information we would love to put this system to the test. Please call Anne at 719 572 2740 if you can.
