Icelandair API

Anyone else having/had issues completing this form? Despite meticulously filling it in numerous times it keeps coming up with numerous errors (asking for a VISA Number and Known Traveller Number despite us having ESTA's) meaning I cannot complete the form, I've phoned Icelandair (useless didn't know what an ESTA was) did the Chat thing online only to be cut off?

Solution may be using another browser

I thought I remembered a similar problem, but it was a few months ago. While searching for my car rental for the same upcoming trip to Iceland, I found an email from my spouse complaining about difficulty entering data into the system for his Icelandair ticket. (Email equivalent of bellowing, "Why does this say I need a visa? I don't have a visa!") That reminded me of your post and I came back to answer.

I thought we solved it by entered the details using a different browser (instead of my usual Firefox, I switched to Safari) or maybe the app on a phone, but it was back in January so I couldn't recall exactly.

Today I saw the same issue on Firefox with my booking, but could adjust the APIS data in Safari. Have you gotten this sorted?

Just, I eventually got through again to the Online Chat, 'JP' was very helpful, he could see our DOB's but not the Passport Numbers which I supplied and he added them at his end, I asked if he needed our address on arrival in the US but he said no, so fingers crossed as it was infuriating as I'd meticoulously checked every entry I had made to the online API.

The form is literally impossible to fill out because they've set fields that are inherently optional to be required. I've tried on Firefox and Safari, with the same results.

"This field should only to be filled out by those who have a Visa in their passport, issued by a U.S.Embassy or Consulate." Then don't make it a required field!

I'm trying to give Icelandair a second chance after a 2020 debacle, but it's not going well. How can I trust an airline that can't manage to build a simple online form?

Try again with a fresh browser window, but NEVER CLICK in any those optional fields. That’s what worked for me.

It is terribly designed, however.

When 24 hour check in window opened before my flight, my data was in IcelandAir’s system, except, oddly, for my national origin.

My actual flights with IcelandAir have been better, overall, than my user experience with the website…
