Thanks again for providing Flyertalk Premium to us. It is a great way to eliminate all the ads... and also a small way for us to support this gift you have given to each of us.

Suggestion: You may want to highlight this feature when people first sign up and register for Flyertalk. While many will not pay until they see the benefit, I am sure some will sign up on the spot.

Just a thought.

Of course, you could just provide 100,000 starpoints for signing up... :)

That will help the business model, right?

We've been very encouraged with the comments so far about FlyerTalk Premium and of the dozen or so comments posted on the board, all have been completely positive and that's always our first goal - to make it work. The idea came from some of the members of our volunteer Moderator staff as well as members of the elected TalkBoard.

The key to this is helping support FlyerTalk in a small way. Each FT Premium membership ads $2 toward the cost of providing FlyerTalk to everyone on an annual basis.

We do have some other plans and you're likely to hear of them soon. Some ideas in the works are lounge passes, base elite memberships and anything else i can wrangle from the industry.

As for the bonus points. 100,000 starpoints @ 3 cents a piece would cost us $3,000 to supply as a bonus to a $12 purchase. Not sure of what business model you are referring to but I am very sorry that we're likely to not meet your expectations..... HA!

We may play with some bonus offerings, but have to be very careful, you guys are real clever and know how to exploit anything we may offer. Heck, I'm still paying for your guys trips on the Concorde.

Surely Randy can exploit his industry contacts and get the Starpoints at 0.03 cents each.

I'll add my thanks here. I didn't realize how aggravating those ads had gotten, until they were no more *poof*. Thanks for giving us a way to contribute to FT that makes our experience so much better. :)

I wasn't particuarly worried by the ads myself, but I've certainly got no complaints about not having them anymore. At a cost of only $1 a month I definitely think it's money better spent keeping this valuable resource running than buying myself another chocolate bar anyway! :p :D

I'm signed up. The ads did not bother me, either. However, FT is a great source of info and entertainment and $12 a year is a small contribution for value received.

Thank you! This is the best thing since sliced bread. I am on a slow, slow dial up connection. It took forever for the ads to load. The forum threads never appeared until the ads were fully loaded. Sometimes a page would take a couple of minutes to load. It was very frustating but now it is great.

Ditto, ditto, ditto to all the accolades.... ^ ^ ^

The pages load faster and with fewer problems. And I'm providing a bit of monetary support to IF/FT.

$12 a year is dirt cheap! ;)
