SDMB perhaps?

FlyerTalk dropped another 7 places to become the 154th most active bulletin board in the world, but it is still listed as a UBB bulletin board.

I predict that once the speed issues are resolved, FlyerTalk will climb up the standings as it becomes more active.

---------------

I am glad that FlyerTalk retained a clean interface (despite being transferred to vBulletin bulletin board software) instead of being busy as other Internet bulletin board sites using vBulletin software usually seem to be. I already like the new vBulletin bulletin board software and configured MyFlyerTalk to my personal preferences.

Even though I realize the transition has not yet been completed, thank you for upgrading the FlyerTalk Internet bulletin board and all of the hard work, Randy Petersen and the WebFlyer staff.

Don't worry about that. Here's a link to the vBulletin listing of huge boards - vBelletin used by more big boards than anyone else. It seems that with our more than 2.7 million posts, we rank in or near the top ten boards. See for yourself:

What? Me, Worry?

Nah — I am not worried. It would not matter to me if FlyerTalk placed dead-last on the list — it is still an exceptional bulletin board, and still the only one on which I am an active member.

Incidentally, FlyerTalk dropped another 6 places to become the 160th most active bulletin board in the world, but it is still listed as a UBB bulletin board. Interestingly, Airliners.net currently places at 161, immediately behind FlyerTalk.

Let’s look at the rest of the “competition” for a moment:

Overgrow Forums, an Internet bulletin board currently ranking in 68th place, discusses growing Marijuana.

The Internet bulletin board in currently in 87th place is known as Go F--k Yourself and the Internet bulletin board currently in 24th place is known as F--ked Company (I am not joking — I am completely serious!), which makes one momentarily wonder about the credibility and status of these Internet bulletin board rankings and puts all things pertaining to this list in relative perspective...

:D

So let's act, play a bit in one of those great OMNI games and push up flyertalk on those lists again back to one of the top 10 boards, where it belongs... ;)

I was going to say someone should update the FlyerTalk entry in that list because with 2.7 million posts it should be number 80-something. But it appears that as of this morning this has been done. FT ranks number 84 on the overall list. It's 39th on the vBulletin list, which should mean lots of room to grow. The largest vBulletin board has 17.9 million posts and counting.

FlyerTalk Jumps 76 Places!

This is excellent news!

Does anyone know where I can buy some shares of FlyerTalk stock?...

Kiwi Flyer Apr 11, 2004 6:13 am

But the time to buy is before the big jump, so sell sell!

Kiwi Flyer Jul 31, 2004 4:57 pm

According to www.big-boards.com FT is 92nd for # posts overall and 40th on the vBulletin list.

Kiwi Flyer Sep 11, 2004 4:10 pm

FT has dropped another place to 93 and is now 13,000 posts behind Lonely Planet.

The scary thing is how esoteric many/most of those other boards are and the fact that I've only ever come across 3-4 of them before. I wonder what they'd think of us?

I noticed that as well. For example, one of the boards that dwarfs FT in post count is called "Chiquititas".
It's described as a Hebrew Forum for an Argentine Soap Opera.

With OMNI being removed we are now 136th largest BB.

I guess we'll just have to be content with quality over quantity.
