Your Trip Reports on InsideFlyer.com

Randy,
First of all, thank you, thank you, thank you, for providing this forum and for you fantastic magazine. In your "Opening Remarks" column this month, you refer to your trip reports on safari awards and the Concorde. I am really focused on trying to rack up points and miles to take the Hilton safari (pretty tough since nearly all our earning is through partners, especially credit cards). Anyway, I have been unable to locate your reports on InsideFlyer.com. Could you give me a hint of where to find them?
Thanks again!

Mikel on my staff has the reports and has been busy trying to re-program the layout to allow multiple pictures along with the text - given the new re-design we just went through. They should be up in the next few days. There is the Hilton Safari (Hilton HHonors redemption), the Concorde (British Airways redemption), the Sabi Sabi Safari (South African Airways redemption) and the Al Maha Resort (Emirates redemption). All have pictures. I think the Hilton Safari is almost 5,000 words long. We'll keep adding to this collection of award experiences as time allows ranking and rating them for aspiration value as well as mile/point value.

Thanks for the comments and please feel free to contact Mikel about the exact date when he'll have them up ([email protected]).

Thanks so much for your speedy reply. I'll look forward to seeing them, and think it's a great idea to provide reports on the awards that make obsessing over miles and points worth it!

Congrats on the CNN.com showing

My guess is that it's more of an fyi for other FT's here than for you.

I just read your report on the SAF8 award--fantastic! Thanks for the encouragement to keep accumulating the points--and for the tips on enjoying the trip!

Is the Inside Flyer webiste working? I am having trouble accessing it and not sure if the problem is on my end. I am thinking of using the Hilton Safari award, what is the best time of year to go?

Seems to be a server problem, I'm sure it'll be fixed tomorrow.

I thought Randy's report of his Kenya Safari was excellent and REALLY hope he finds time to post it in the "Trip Reports" forum, as well as Inside Flyer.

Great photos! The link to the report is :

And agree with gleff it appears to be a temporary server problem, that I am sure will be fixed on Monday. I was able to read it fine when the email first arrived late week. As had several others on the Hilton Forum thread on the Nairobi Hilton where I mentioned Randy's article a few days back:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum57/HTML/009297.html

We have just arrived back from Kenya/Tanzania/Zanzibar and agree with Randy's assessment of the great lounge at the Nairobi Hilton, and the really unique "Carnivore" restaurant they have in outer Nairobi.
