I've met some FTers older than 30 that ACT like they are FAR younger than 30!

It would have to be before June 14 for me to be eligible to attend. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Great idea. However, instead of calling it "FlyerTalk under 30 get together" why not just make it a "FlyerTalk get together" with a special emphasis on young travelers? I've met many people on this board who could probably add much to such an event (and happen to be above 30).

How about opening up the event to anyone under 30, someone who has been under 30 years of age at some point in the past, or someone who is under 30 years in spirit? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

one great thing about FT get togethers is that people self select....if a night out and bar hopping doesn't appeal to someone. they most likely won't go...

that said, for some reason an under 30 party doesn't bother me personally the way some other exclusions might...I think the empahasis on "young travelers" is a good solution..

You'd probably want to have this sort of thing in BOS. Then when you flew there it would be a Logan's Run.

Live in Bay Area, spotty availability in MAY and JUNE can easily do SF, LA. Wouldn't mind NYC, MIA YVR MSY etc. who is planning this?

Agree with the self-selection comment squeakr made above.

As for me... I would be too old to attend if being a twenty-something is a requirement. (For the record, I was still in my twenties at my first few FT dos if that counts for anything....)

Wow, I'm too old for this event but too young for this event http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum95/HTML/003303.html

What's with these age brackets? I find meeting people of all ages to be fun. But then again, I am a New Yorker! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

"There's a girl just down the aisle,
Oh, to turn and see her smile.
You can hear the words she wrote
As you read the hidden note.

Oh, to live on Sugar Mountain
With the barkers and the colored balloons,
You can't be twenty on Sugar Mountain
Though you're thinking that
you're leaving there too soon,
You're leaving there too soon."

I hope people don't get offended by my suggesting an under 30 get together at a restaurant/bar. We should really have a seperate thread for argueing as my original purpose was to gather members interested in attending, not to start an argueing thread And if you are 31,32 dont think u can't come. But I meant it to be a social event for younger age travelers. I'm not trying to be rude but if we go bar/club hopping and there are a bunch of married 45 yr old with a bunch of single 25 yrs olds(and a few married one sprinkled in) going out to a nice restaurant then to the bars/club and on the town it might change the atmosphere.

Besides the general events are for everyone. Alot of places such as Mensa, Republican, Democratic, etc have under whatever age meeting..
