The issue that you highlight is that the ticket information is not in the system. They cannot reissue a ticket if the ticket is not in the system. That is the problem there ... Dave

Either:
  1. The OP has been given a reference to their booking and believes it is a ticket number (i.e. The ticket has not yet been issued), or
  2. The ticket has been issued, but the OP has not been able to approach the AA agents in a way to get them to perform the necessary re-issuing.
  3. The ticket has been issued, but CX has not properly made the information accessible to AA?

Using eVIPs on QF-issued ticket for AA flights?

Does this also apply to other tickets? I have some MCOs for Qantas and they say that they can be used towards tickets on any OW airline, but that they are valid only for sales from QF. If I use them for an all AA itinerary, can I still upgrade the AA flights? I assume that the ticket will be on QF ticket-stock.

Ask AA to be transferred to the RTW desk...

...in the past I have round the AA RTW desk is much better at handling these type of things as they deal with the product on a daily basis.

Indeed. The OP says that CX have issued the ticket. AA says that there is no ticket number. If there is no ticket number showing in the AA reservation then they cannot reissue; the reason why it is not there is irrelevent

The OP needs to speak to CX and get the ticket number propogated to AA; it is not an AA issue
