Am thinking of CAI-LHR-DOH-CDG-DOH-xxxxxx for a DONE3...are these couple of segments YQ killer? (my rest of legs are mainly AA/CX...if that makes a difference I plan to issue it on 160 stock)

Could you be more specific about "YQ killer," please? I use CDG for that turn when I fly these itineraries in F because QR makes no A bucket F space available to LHR, but nearly always available to CDG. The airport is easy (you can stay airside and just turn around before you even get to any transit desk) and it's about the same distance as LHR.

Did you need to be in Egypt to book it, or had a friend or contact there who helped you? I'm assuming you chose CAI as origin for price purposes. |

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but I expect the rate desk will knock this itinerary back. The reason is that it has five segments in Europe/Middle East when only four are allowed.
Unless the tickets haven't been issued yet. |
The Dr has stated in another thread (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/27442400-post521.html) that his itinerary has gone to the AA rate desk.
Looks like an inexperienced agent did not realise there were five segments in Europe/Middle East and so let it go through. |

Doesn't really matter, though. I would just drop DOH-CAI and terminate at DOH. It's a short flight anyway, and means only that I would have to pay to go back to CAI to start the next one. I'll just try to use the segment somewhere else. Maybe change LAX-DOH to LAX-xxx-DOH, with a connection city. I don't like the 2 seating layout in 77x in the J cabin, and much prefer the 1 in the 787 and 350 series aircraft. One bummer, though, is that I planned an afternoon departure ex-DOH to CAI to give me a few hours in Al Safwa. :( |

How does this look like for a DONE3?
Goal: maximize RDM, EQM/EQD don't care. CAI-DOH-MAD-DOH-LHR-LAX-ORD-SJU-JFK-LAX-DFW-ORD-HKG-MLE-HKG-CMB-DOH I just have to start in CAI, be in ORD quickly (so EU-->ORD in one go), and arrive in HKG for US->Asia. Also LHR-LAX and JFK-LAX as I want to use my SWUs... Will book AA codeshares if there are to get 270 instead of 245% RDM. Plan to issue on 160 stock |

Indeed. I've changed LAX-DOH-CAI at the end to LAX-DFW-CAI and the RTW desk has resubmitted to the rate desk. Who knows, -- by next July maybe the new J product will have been installed!
