CX F to AKL is seasonal and operates in NZ summer, not winter.

I thought so too but looking at EF there are no F seats during December or January - didn't look before or after.

The seat maps show J beginning at row 11 on the 343s, so I suspect CX will be either allowing CX elites to sit up there (as they did when I was last on it) or else will close F entirely. Pity.

???
cathaypacific.com online booking/schedule tools show 34B for this route.
The online booking tool shows no firstclass equiped for HKG-AKL in December and January.

BA

I've attempted to update the list of BA routes with F class in this thread, specifically here. Any corrections very welcome.

Looks as though CX is cancelling F service to ICN (Seoul) for the winter.
Last flight with F seems to be Nov 23; resumes with one flight per week in mid-March.

That's the fourth segment of my AONE5 that CX has downgraded from F to J with no compensation.

Happy Travels.

Ouch!! Not wanting to rub salt into those wounds but... did you read the thread on the CX board about someone who got +/- $1500 for an F/J downgrade between NRT and HKG?

ETA: Correction: I see it's on this forum!

Just checked EF for the seven days beginning Jan 12, 2011. Shows CX 107 HKG-AKL daily 74A service with F. Depart HKG 2125, arrive AKL 1305+1. KVS shows the same daily service.

SNA_Flyer Sep 10, 2010 4:21 pm

CX548/549 HKG-HND is a daily 744 with F
CX542/543 HKG-HND has F depending on the day of the week...

BrewerSEA Apr 16, 2011 3:46 pm

CX751 BKK-DEL is now sold as 3-class daily 5/16-10/29.

The aircraft generally (always?) has F seats but has been sold as 2-class in the recent past with the F section closed or offered to elites/full-fare J pax with business service. This is a recent change as when I booked a July ticket back in February F was unavailable but I was able to change the ticket today.

ORD-DEL is gone :-(

DFW-MAD goes to 777 starting June 1st ^. Not sure if this is seasonal or not.

That flight is HKG-BKK-DEL. HKG/BKK is one of the routes most subject to a/c substitution, so don't count on anything other than the possibility of last minute a/c substitutions. Just checked a few random dates in June and found 2 class 333s operating this flight.

Good point. FWIW my post was from last year when it was scheduled as a 744. It was a 744 when I flew it, though I have also flown CX751 HKG-BKK in the winter schedule when it was scheduled as a longhaul 333 and had it swapped for the shorthaul config. That's par for the course on CX intra-Asia. My anecdotal experience is the 744 flights are less likely to have aircraft swaps than the 77W flights, which become 772/773s quite frequently.

CGK flights have the same situation.: continuous aircraft change :td:
