i am planning a xONE5 ex HKG starting in January. I wanna do HKG-CTS-KIX-CNS-AYQ-SYD-SCL... the KIX-CNS is operated by Jetstar (QF242). My agent told me that Jetstar flight is not allowed. Is it true?

If it's not allowed, how can i go to any australian city from KIX or CTS? Since i start my journey from HKG, it seems i can't return HKG to transit... and HKG-CTS-KIX has effectively used up my 2 sectors available for Asia?

it is true, JQ is not permitted

There are various routes to Australia. Obviously CX flies to HKG from CTS on some days of the week, from where you can connect on to Australia or elsewhere in Asia. Also JL flies from CTS-NRT and also from NRT-CNS. QF also operates from NRT-CNS

You are allowed 4 segments in Asia, not 2.

OOPS! it seems i mixed up stopovers and segments! I can only take two stopovers in Asia, but i can in fact use 4 segments. right?

But HKG is the origin, can i fly KIX-HKG-CNS as long as i don't stopover in HKG?

"You are allowed to take two stopovers in total within your continent of origin in order to get to or from a gateway to begin or return from your international travel."

Right, although you cannot transit HKG after departure. You still have lots of other options to get to Australia, however, by using segments 3 and 4.

If you are targetting CTS during the ice festival (5-11 Feb), be very careful that CX has HKG-CTS availability. For that week they are zeroed out in L and D class.
