Very interesting....I hadn't thought of that flight. However just checking now, it appears L is zeroed out on all possible dates for me to fly out. Too bad.

One additional question--if I do end up originating in LHR, does that mean I have to end in LHR as well? Or can I end up in CDG?

You have to end up in the same country.

Try Detroit availability. If there's availability to Detroit, you can just do an open jaw and buy a cheap ticket to Chicago. A quick look shows that AA has tix for $59.

Thanks, will look into that.

Meanwhile I was re-reading the sticky and this line has got me worried, as the wording is a little vague:

"only one flight to/from ANC (Anchorage, Alaska) is permitted."

Does that mean one return trip to Alaska, or one segment to Alaska only?
