Are GIB and LHR same country?

How can I convince OWE that a ticket bought in GIB can end in LHR?
I Bought a DONE5 in GIB but don't want to return there. I want to end at LHR. One option is to not use my last segment (LHR-GIB) but it seems I should be able to convince OWE that GIB=England. That way, I would gain an extra segment. GIB is not represented at UN.

If you can convince them that GIB is part of UK, then that maybe that would be fine. Of course, you would then have to pay the UK price for the ticket since by your own argument it is part of the UK

Whilst GIB is part of the UK, it is not part of England! ;)

I think your own solution is likely to be the least difficult solution to your problem.

Do BA even fly to Stanley? In fact do any OW carrier fly down there?

I must state however that the point of my post was not to suggest Gibraltar and the UK are counted as a single zone, more that Gibralter is not part of England but part of the United Kingdom (from a sovereignty perspective).

Try LA. They fly into MPN.

Actually, I had a real struggle to convince QF that MPN was part of South America when I tried to redeem a FF ticket SCL-MPN. They said (under the old QF rules) that it was British and therefore part of Britain. That meant a 100,000 point ticket whereas my logic said it was Sth America and hence a 40,000 point ticket. I eventually won by ringing back several times and getting someone who agreed with me.

Interesting! So by those rules, I could have flown from HEL to Stanley on an Intra-European award (is it 20K on QF?). Might actually have made such a trip had I known about this.

QF awards are mileage rather than zone based so this would not work.

BA don't but LAN do.

(However for the UK, you can get paid tickets on scheduled RAF flights to Stanley. From RAF Brize-Norton IIRC, with a refuelling stop enroute. No miles or tier points though! :D )

So, just dont' use your last segment then !

Saves you the trouble of trying to change British history!

Yes.

Unfortunately for me the LA flights seem to be seasonal, and the time of year I can best fit in South America is October when the SCL-MPN flights aren't running.

Edited to add. LA flight runs weekly on Saturdays.
