I don't understand why MRU-JNB-HKG/SYD-...-LHR-MRU or MRU-JNB-HKG/SYD-...-LHR-JNB-MRU won't be possible, or even MRU-JNB-HKG/SYD-...-LHR-CPT/HRE-JNB-MRU. If you want to allow further surface segments then the options multiply (eg MRU-JNB-HKG/SYD-...-LHR-NBO; VFA-JNB-MRU).

I want to do Africa-Europe-Asia-NA-Europe-Africa if originating in MRU, and this is not allowed. When the only service ex-MRU was MRU-LHR it also was prohibited to go MRU-JNB-SYD or HKG (but this will be allowed once the Comair service JNB-MRU is operating). However that still doesn't help with the "dual entry into Europe from Africa" problem, which is really what I was commenting on before.

Perhaps call an agency such as Flight Centre and buy the ticket from them and then either (a) get them to post the ticket to you or (b) collect it when in NZ. If it is for a business or first ticket, if you can hold the booking, you ould also just purchase on arrival at a QF ticket desk in NZ since there is no Advance Purchase requirement (other than 1 hour) for non economy OWEs ex NZ

Very important and inconvenient rule (unless this rule has been changed in the past week).

The return to Africa has to be LHR-ACC/whatever you want to do in Africa, probably surface segment to JNB. Likely to be a somewhat expensive one-way ticket (or a long and gruesome land journey).

So your "absolutely not" really meant "absolutely not for what I want to do" but doesn't preclude anyone wanting to do a RTW going MRU-LHR-LAX-SYD-JNB or LAX-HKG-JNB and onwards to any of the Commair ports I mentioned? And as my post mentioned nothing about flying LHR-CPT or LHR-JNB I'm not too sure what exactly you are saying is wrong with the info given in my post.

Westbound RTW ex-Africa were always OK since one could return to Africa via Asia or SWP. Eastbound RTW ex-Africa required 2 passes thru Europe one of which must be a transit thru Europe enroute to Ghana/Nigeria/Kenya/Tanzania/Uganda. The addition of the Comair JNB-MRU flight would allow an eastbound RTW ex-MRU since you could get to Asia/SWP without going thru Europe.
By the way, I have not found the JNB-MRU flight on ba.com or any of its associated sites.

Of course not. However, you can book it on aa.com. (Saturdays only, eff. 16 Sept.)
