I have a find the right deal for my client for the below route before presenting it to my TA tomorrow morning.

HKG-LAX-FRA-CDG-FRA-HKG

The main problems FRA-CDG has no OW airline direct.
Back tracking is probably not a problem I hope.

So... is there any OW fares can buy without getting another ticket?

Thanks in advance.

I.m not sure it's necessarily the best deal, but that is valid for a OneWorld Explorer 3 continents ticket. The fare ex-HKG is HK$21590/45160/64000 +taxes in Y/J/F. The simplest routing would be: HKG-LAX-LHR(or ORD or DFW)-FRA-LHR-CDG-LHR-FRA-HKG
but if this is a business trip and there isn't time to burn and the traveller isn't highly attached to miles then I would do the FRA-CDG-FRA by train (about 5 hours city centre to city centre, and a lot less hassle, or even a sleeper train which leaves about 11pm and gets in at 7am in both directions).

That's not bad - CX will probably give the TA somewhere between 5 and 8% discount, depending on how big they are.

Er, oops - I just realised that if you route in from the US via LHR then you are at 5 segments in Europe, which would require an additional fee. Routing LAX-ORD/DFW-FRA would avoid that extra amount (but would reduce the remaining number of segments available in North America by one).

The segment limits within the base fare are 4 within Europe and Asia, 6 within North America. Extra segments may be purchased, but the total number of segments including the intercontinental ones cannot exceed 20.

$1200 HKD for the back tracked sector.
So tempting to fly to FLL and Canada (if they pay for me) ... or is it possible.

"Backtracking is of no relevance - it's the fact that it's the fifth sector that costs. And it's HKD$1200+the extra taxes of going through LHR, which is one of the highest taxed airports in the world. So why not avoid it by taking a direct flight from ORD or DFW to FRA? There's no reason why you shouldn't then use another 5 segments in North America - the only extra cost is the taxes.
