Mrs og and I travelled BA1&2 (Concorde) as backpackers. Our clothes were clean, didn't smell but hadn't seen an iron for a month. Perfectly acceptable as far as we (and the crew) were concerned. The only ones that couldn't handle that were the US immigration folk at JFK. How were backpackers travelling Concorde? They obviously didn't know about FT and the QF award to get the tickets.

We were selected for special questions in the room off the side of the main channel. No rubber gloves, but close. Once we said "frequent flyer points" several times, they waved us on and picked on someone else.

Agreed. If you're clean and comfortable then no need to worry IMO.

It's not what you wear it's how you wear it. On my last BA F flight I wore jeans, t-shirt and trainers. In front of me was a BA employee in a cheap suit and polyester mix short-sleeved shirt and tie . :rolleyes: Needless to say I didn't feel scruffy in comparsion and was certainly more comfortable.

Personally, I loathe business casual whether I'm in the office or on a plane so would say leave the khakis at home, or better still give them to your local charity shop and do your wardrobe a BIG favour.
