Some posters are speculating on the Finnair forum that AY can see the fare details of a DONEx fare because it is a JV partner with AA/BA/IB. Therefore, AY+ could award points based on spend rather than distance.

For those who are using AY+, what have you received for an AY operated flight. but marketed by another OW airline e.g. AAxxxx on a HEL-USA? Is it spend or mileage? I believe that an AY marketed flight, but not operated by AY earn based on spend.

Please ignore all of the conspiracy theories of what AY can or cannot see.

The only thing that matters for determining AY+ accrual is the Oneworld marketing carrier flight number.

Thanks, I believe that you moved to AY+ from BA. How is that working out? I'm still on the fence with BA as there are a few quirks of AY+ compared to BA that I need to understand.

I was at BA a number of years ago but in this instance, I moved from JL to AY. For me, it's working out well.. AY+ Plat benefits are just what I need.
