Is this correct?
Thinking of a AA coded flight on HEL-USA as part of a DONE4 ticket.
Thanks
I believe that aligns with current assumptions providing the ticket isn't issued by AY of course.
However a xONEx variable that I don't recall seeing real life reports on is what effect, if any, the BA/AA/AY/EI/IB Joint Venture might have on AY operated flights with BA, IB or AA flight numbers. We know that AY gets fare information on xONEx tickets for AYxxx flights ticketed on AA stock and my working assumption is this is because of the information sharing facilitated by the JV. Therefore I think it is theoretically possible that an AA codeshare on AY metal with an AA/BA/IB issued ticket might also result in AY being able to obtain a notional spend for the sector. If you're not proposing to get it ticketed by AA/BA/IB then I would expect it not to be a problem although I can't be sure. However I would be inclined not to risk it with AA/BA/IB issued tickets unless someone knows for certain it's not an issue; either construct the itinerary in such a way that you have enough TPs to cover either outcome or avoid it.
If someone knows for certain I'm sure they'll correct me if I've got it completely wrong!
FWIW my rule of thumb for xONEx is avoid AYxxx entirely if mileage based TPs is the objective for a given sector.
